*Appellaxians are ancient energy beings. They feed to energy to survive. Metropolis, Atlantis, and Themyscira are the most energy abundant locations on Earth. Atlantis and Themyscira are hidden from the world using great sources of magical energy. Whereas Metropolis, being the most technological advanced city on Earth, requires more energy than any other city in order to run. Appellaxians were drawn to Mars when it was initially an energy abundant planet, similar to Earth, but recently extracted all energy from the planet it had to offer. They hibernated on Mars until recently detecting Earth had more energy to offer.
*Superheroes, Supervillains, and meta-humans are known to exist in this world already as urban legends. Batman has previously teamed up with other heroes before.
*DC Animated shorts exploring origins of Justice League et al should be released monthly building up to the theatrical release.
